The Stubblebine Company is a Boston-based commercial real estate company with broad reach across the region. Colophon has been managing Stubblebine’s website since 2014. The website has gone through two separate rebuilds in that time that included updates to the listings search system and changes to the responsive webs design framework.
Recently however, it was decided that an array of aesthetic changes were needed, but the core features, and the technology that run site could stay the same. Further, almost all of the layout of the website remained intact. The design changes that were implemented are loosely referred to as a “re-skinning”.
When re-skinning a website, font, color, styles and some elements of the layout can be modified without undertaking a large re-development project. This allows the website to take on a fresh new life and improvements in the user experience without the cost of a full redesign.
In the process of re-skinning StubblebineCompany.com, Colophon also reviewed all settings and worked to optimize the site for speed and search.
