St. Barts Yachts

St. Barts Yachts is a luxury marine broker serving Charleston SC and the Southeast US.

Colophon New Media first partnered with St. Barts Yachts to rescue the client from a failing hosting environment. Colophon managed the legacy site and made modifications to improve its functionality.

That version of the site utilized a plugin from YachtWorld, a premiere name in the world of marine brokerage. Buyers, sellers and agents alike turn to YachtWorld for national and global exposure for their listings. At that time, however, the YachtWorld plugin had several drawbacks. It provided little customization, a poor display and was ineffective on mobile devices.

Now, after a major redesign, Colophon has brought many improvements to the St. Barts website. We greatly improved the effectiveness and usability of the listing platform by integrating the new YachtWorld API. More streamlined and responsive than a plug-in, an API (Application Programming Interface) gives viewers all the robust functionality and speed of YachtWorld’s listing service, without having to leave the St. Barts website.  At the same time, thanks to Colophon design and programming based on precise client specs, the browsing experience retains the Southeastern look and feel of St. Barts Yachts.
