St. Barts Yacht Sales

Colophon recently helped update the website for longtime partner St. Barts Yacht Sales following the acquisition of the company by North Point Yacht Sales, providing a gorgeous new website for an exciting new chapter.

One key to the success of this project was following the same steps that we took to help elevate a number of clients in the boat brokerage industry.

Speaking of which, we laid out the most important features of a successful boat brokerage website — effective incorporation of MLS APIs, high traffic thanks to SEO and targeted PPC Google ad campaigns, and custom solutions like back-end inventory management services — back in April.

 The Company

St. Barts has been a fixture in the yacht sales business in the Southeast since 1994.

With locations in Charleston, Wilmington, NC, and Jacksonville, St. Barts has become one of the top boat brokerage firms in the Southeast. Last year, St. Barts Yacht Sales was honored with the Founding Beneteau Dealer Award at the 2024 Beneteau Dealer Convention!

The company was recently acquired by North Point Yacht Sales, and one emphasis of this project was making the look and navigation of the St. Barts website more similar to the North Point site.

 The Challenge

An essential aspect of this project was refreshing the design while streamlining the layout/navigation and emulating the look and feel of NorthPointYachtSales.com.

More than anything, though, our goal was to give St. Barts a crisp website that would A) showcase the company’s impressive boat selection and B) make it easy for visitors to the site to find just what they’re looking for.

The “Brands” pages show off the new Beneteau (Power and Sail) and Lagoon options, as well as the luxury catamarans that St. Barts has for sale, while the “Pre-Owned Boats” page is a go-to for anyone looking to buy or sell a used boat — or just browse St. Barts’ extensive offering.

 The Process

The new St. Barts site showcases a number of the key tenets we detailed in our our post on boat brokerage website optimization. There’s no better example of Colophon’s prowess at incorporating top-notch, industry-specific APIs than this site’s use of the YachtWorld API to showcase its secondhand catamarans.

We’re also proud of all the dynamic filtering that we implemented. These tools make navigating through the many available options as easy as possible for new and existing customers.

Another feature worth highlighting is the heavy use of striking images of the boats that are for sale and lease at St. Barts. And the complementary placement of the call-to-action buttons for each boat facilitates the crucial step of connecting buyers directly to brokers (and sales).

 The Solution

The fruit of Colophon’s labor on this project is an outstanding new website that will provide St. Barts with a big boost as it seeks continued growth in the competitive industry of boat brokerage.
