A longtime Colophon New Media partner, their team brought us a unique challenge: preserve the excellent custom WordPress design and theme while refreshing the website with a rebuilt sitemap, new key pages, and modernized content. The Structures team partnered with the talented team at at Hey Milk Truck for content strategy and support.
Structures | Alair is synonymous with luxury residential construction in Charleston, blending timeless design with modern living. Their portfolio showcases some of the area’s most impressive custom homes and have a reputation built on a foundation of elite craftsmanship and customer care.
Rather than a full redesign, the goal was to refresh without losing what already worked. The website needed sharper storytelling, updated photography, an SEO-focused sitemap (including new Locations pages), and refreshed core page designs — all while keeping the look and feel intact for their brand.
Colophon approached the initiative with targeted upgrades that respected the original design:
• Sitemap rebuild — We restructured navigation and content hierarchy to support stronger visibility and SEO / AEO using a new main menu and subpages, and brand new pages featuring Structures | Alair’s key Locations spotlighting the neighborhoods they specialize in.
• New page designs — We crafted fresh layouts and components for key sections, aligning with Colophon’s Website Design & Development services.
• Content integration — In collaboration with Hey Milk Truck, we tactically preserved select legacy content and swapped in new copy and photography to tell the right stories.
• Modernized global elements — We refined common templates and UI components to deliver a more contemporary feel without altering the core theme.
• Delivery discipline — We followed Colophon’s three‑phase development methodology and ensured performance, accessibility, and mobile readiness.
The result is a gorgeous, refreshed digital experience that preserves Structures | Alair’s elegant design while modernizing the content and sitemap. Sharp new designs, updated imagery, and thoughtful navigation bring the portfolio to life and guide prospective clients through a clear journey from inspiration to inquiry.
