Voyage Auctions is the brainchild of Alex and Madelyn Bourland, who are a familiar name in the Charleston real estate auctioning business from their work with Pearce & Associates Auction Company.

Voyage was born in 2024, when it stepped in to assist a local real estate industry veteran looking to sell an oceanfront home on Folly Beach. That task had been made complicated by newly passed legislation that prohibited the transfer of short-term rental properties via property sales.

Thanks to the Voyage co-founders’ proven auctioning expertise, the auction of this property was a massive success. Over the course of just 60 days, Voyage Auctions attracted interest from a range of bidders from eight different states. The high demand yielded a quick sale of the home for just over $2.49 million, providing the seller with a short turnaround and a premium sale price.

Just like that, Voyage Auctions had tangible proof of concept, and a stream of potential clients quickly materialized. The young company has been building up its client base ever since.

 The Challenge

After the success of that first deal, Alex and Madelyn began collaborating with Colophon on a website that could showcase everything Voyage Auctions has to offer to prospective sellers and brokers.
