 The Company

Physicians Preference Vitamins is a professional-grade supplement provider based in Katy, Texas. Since 2001, they have helped guests restore health naturally through physician-curated nutrients and personalized wellness plans. Their business serves a nationwide audience through a high-traffic online store, offering everything from immunity support to heart health protocols.

 The Challenge

The original website was not built well and relied on over 40 different plugins, massive database queries resulting from poor website architecture, and piecemealed features. This “clunky” backend broke frequently and made maintenance difficult. Because the site was built on a restrictive Beaver Builder structure, it was slow, often compromised branding guidelines, and failed to provide the smooth experience that high-end wellness customers expect, especially on mobile devices.

In order to turn this website around, we had to preserve the frontend that they liked, while ensuring we protected branding guidelines, optimized the database for performance, and minimized the plugins to those that were worthwhile, secure, and necessary for the business.

 The Process

Our main focus was designing a comprehensive website architecture from the ground up.

• We architected a clean, custom WordPress theme to replace the bloated page builder structure. This allowed us to preserve the user journey while adding custom-coded branded elements for a more polished feel.
• We were extremely selective with plugin integration to ensure a cohesive system.
• Finally, our team performed meticulous work to pare, clean, and streamline the entire database structure. This work more than halved the load time to under 1.5-seconds, which is vital to the performance of large-scale eCommerce websites.

 The Solution

The result is a better-branded, high-performing eCommerce website that is built to convert. By flexing our technical muscles and getting deep into the weeds of the database, we delivered a site that passes muster on mobile devices and loads with incredible speed.
