Zander joined Colophon in 2024, building on its 20+ year legacy with a new vision and expanded offerings in custom website design and development, website maintenance, hosting, and digital marketing – including organic SEO and paid advertising. With a background that spans engineering, consulting, and entrepreneurship, Zander brings a rare combination of technical rigor, strategic vision, and practical execution to every engagement.

Under his leadership, the agency remains committed to the mission of craftsmanship and personal service, while continuing to evolve as a results-driven partner for Charleston, SC businesses and customers all around the globe who are ready to grow their digital presence. Colophon is dedicated to helping small and mid-sized businesses outperform their own expectations.

Before Colophon, Zander led high-performing teams and high-impact projects at Tesla, Deloitte, and Milliken, gaining experience across operations, engineering, and strategy. This foundation shapes his approach today: creative, analytical, and relentlessly focused on the best outcomes for customers.

Outside of work, Zander loves to exercise, hike, surf, and travel this beautiful planet. He, his wife, Sarah, and their dog, Monte, reside in Charleston, SC.

Founder Emeritus

James M. Eastman founded Colophon in January 2003 to develop internet-based products and provide web services including website design and development, website maintenance, hosting, web marketing and custom web application design and programming.

James Eastman brought eight years of international classroom teaching experience to Colophon, with academic training in computer science, professional experience developing electronic products for the educational market, and fluency in the Spanish language. He started his web career at Oxford University Press (OUP), Oxford, England where he worked for a year and a half as Internet Controller, creating learning media for their Online Resources Department. Prior to joining OUP, James spent the 2000-2001 academic year earning a M.S. in Computer Science, Interactive Multimedia, from the University of Westminster, London.

After graduating from the University of Massachusetts with a B.A. in Political Science (minor in Spanish), James worked for Readak Educational Services for one year, teaching Reading and Study Skills. That position took him to Caracas, Venezuela where he stayed for five years to teach social studies to middle school students at the Escuela Campo Alegre. He left Venezuela in 1998 to accept a position at the American School in London where he taught high school history courses for two years.

In 2024, James stepped away from Colophon after providing excellent digital solutions and services to Charleston businesses for over 20 years. James lives with his wife and children in Charleston, SC.
