 The Company

Edisto Island Youth Recreation exists to create, organize, and promote youth sports for children on Edisto Island, SC. The organization focuses on providing accessible opportunities for basketball, cheerleading, and other team sports — all led by local volunteers dedicated to youth development and community connection.

 The Challenge

EIYR approached Colophon New Media seeking a more polished and professional online presence. Their existing Weebly website had been DIY‑built and no longer met the organization’s needs. With a new partnership forming with Charleston County and new requirements, EIYR wanted a legitimate, easy‑to‑use site for parents to access schedules, register their children, and stay connected to events in the community. With all of these requirements and best practice marketing procedure, it was imperative that the WordPress website remained simple to maintain, with limited volunteer bandwidth available to manage updates.

 The Process

Colophon New Media designed, built, and launched a simple yet powerful website that met their needs with great features, without requiring a lot of complex upkeep.

The finished website delivers exactly what EIYR envisioned — a legitimate, easy‑to‑use online hub that showcases their programs and makes it simple for parents to get involved. It also highlights the exciting plans for a new youth sports facility that will soon break ground, bringing modern recreational infrastructure to the Edisto Island community.
